Family Sunday School

Are you familiar with our Family Sunday School class?  The goal of Family Sunday School is to equip parents with the tools to study the Word with their children throughout the week and come together on Sunday with other families to discuss what they have learned.  It is for families that wish to stay together in the same class during the Sunday School hour.  Every week will have a little “homework” that should be completed before the next class; therefore, every family needs to come prepared.

While the focus is families (fathers, mothers, and children working together), any one is welcome if they are willing to actively participate and encourage families to grow in the Word.  This is not a “lecture style” class.  Effort should be made on the part of the teaching family to involve all ages.  Every family will be expected to contribute and take turns leading discussion.  As a sampling of topics previously covered, we have studied various books of the Bible, Jewish feasts, the Nativity, Chistian martyrs in church history, Pilgrim’s Progress, The Hiding Place, and the history of several hymns.

We are currently discussing “The Passion of Jesus Christ”, a book written by Pastor John Piper.  We meet Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the DAC building.  Please feel free to contact Denise Ryberg or Karla Taber for more information on this class.
